What is CapyPlan

A daily planner that forgives you.

CapyPlan is a gentle daily planner app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple silicon Macs, built on a simple hypothesis: we assume that you don't follow your plans. Life happens. So instead of making you feel guilty about unfinished tasks, CapyPlan helps you adapt the plan, honor the intention you set, celebrate small wins, and move toward your goals with kindness.

Nothing goes overdue: unfinished tasks float back to your basket instead of turning red. A task that was too hard today can be marked as Tried, softened with Make it gentle, or split into small steps with Break it down. Check in with your mood and energy before you plan, ramble a brain dump to Capy and get back a sorted plan, drag and drop your day into time blocks, and reflect with Capy at night. Every finished or tried task is a yuzu dropped into Capy's onsen bath. No streaks, no red numbers.

CapyPlan is free to download, with an optional CapyPlan Pro subscription. It is made by an indie duo in Sydney, Australia, and is available in eight languages. Read our story.

FAQ

Questions, gently answered.

What is CapyPlan?
CapyPlan is a gentle daily planner app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple silicon Macs. It is built on one hypothesis: we assume that you don't follow your plans. Instead of guilt-tripping you about unfinished tasks, CapyPlan helps you adapt the plan, honor the effort you put in, celebrate small wins, and keep moving toward your goals with kindness. Your companion is Capy, a capybara who relaxes in an onsen as you get things done.
Is CapyPlan free?
Yes. CapyPlan is free to download on the App Store, and the core planner is free to use. An optional CapyPlan Pro subscription unlocks extra features.
Which devices does CapyPlan work on? Is there an Android version?
CapyPlan runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and on Macs with Apple silicon, with home screen widgets and watch widgets. It requires a recent version of iOS. There is no Android or web version yet.
What happens when I miss a task in CapyPlan?
Nothing goes overdue and nothing turns red. An unfinished task quietly floats back to your basket, ready for whenever tomorrow feels possible. If a task was too hard today, you can mark it as Tried, which counts your effort, soften it with Make it gentle, or split it into smaller steps with Break it down.
Is CapyPlan a good planner for ADHD, anxiety, or burnout?
CapyPlan is not a medical product, but it was designed for exactly the moments where rigid planners fail: days when energy is low, plans change, and a wall of overdue tasks makes starting harder. A mood and energy check-in before you plan, no streaks, no overdue list, a Tried state that honors effort, and a brain-dump feature that sorts messy thoughts into small doable steps all exist to lower the pressure to be perfect.
How does the AI in CapyPlan work, and is it private?
Ramble to Capy lets you talk out everything on your mind, and Capy sorts it into a clear, doable plan. The gentle encouragement Capy writes as you plan and replan uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence), so your tasks, plans, and prompts never leave your iPhone. Your planning data is stored on your device by default, and cloud sync is optional and encrypted.
How is CapyPlan different from other to-do list apps?
Most planners are built around completion: a task is either done or overdue. CapyPlan adds a third state, Tried, so showing up counts. There are no streaks to break and no red numbers. You check in with your mood and energy before you plan, reflect with Capy at the end of the day, and every finished or tried task becomes a yuzu dropped into Capy's onsen bath. It also includes drag-and-drop time blocking, a focus timer, and an Apple Watch app.
Who makes CapyPlan?
CapyPlan is made by an indie duo in Sydney, Australia: one designer and one engineer who met at a meditation retreat in Chiang Mai. They also make CapyDay, a countdown app for birthdays and trips. CapyPlan is available in English, Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Greek, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
